I'm sure you've been looking for free antivirus software and that's why I'm bringing you the best that I've found.
Avast Antivirus
is considered one of the best free antivirus programs (some even say it's THE BEST free antivirus) - it can be used for free by registered home users (they also offer e-mail support). The only thing you should do is re-register it after 1000 days and that's all. It also protects you when you surf the web, and if something strange happens, a loud alarm sound can be heard. Fortunately, as soon as you hear the alarm sound, the antivirus takes care of the suspect file.
There is also
AVG Antivirus
which also has a free edition. You can just download it and install it on your computer. I love it because it runs smoothly and it lets you know if any bad things try to get into your computer (of course, the paid version has many more features).
You could also download
Norton Antivirus
for free (but only for 60 days. Even if it won't update the virus definitions after that, it will still protect your pc against the viruses for which it already has the definitions).
